What is God’s will?
God’s will is the law of God for your life. The law of God is the word of God. Therefore the will of God is God’s word. Yes the bible is the will of God. Anything you need to know about life can be found in the bible. You simply need to understand its writings which isn’t always easy to do but God has called people to dedicate themselves to seeking him and gathering divine revelations of God’s word and relating that information to others. Along with knowing the will of God come an obligation to God and your fellow mankind. What obligations am I talking about? Well let’s mention a few of them and search the scriptures to verify them.
Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.
Moses was obedient to God. He loved and trusted God with all his heart. Even when God gave him instructions which seemed impossible to him Moses obeyed God. It was God’s will for Moses to lead the Israelites to freedom away from the Pharaoh. Moses originally did not believe he was worthy enough to take on such an awesome task for God but God assured Moses that all the help he needed would be provided. Moses simply had to hear God, trust God, and obey God. God used Moses to carry out his will and God wants to use people today just like you and I to continue carrying out his will for mankind.
God’s will is the same basic principles for everyone as outlined in the bible; however God’s will for individuals may vary from person to person. The same basis principles apply however the methods and the reasons may differ. God may use multiple people to do the same thing yet instruct them each to do it in a different manner. God does this because He is trying to get people to surrender their life to him. Not everyone can be reached using the same methods, hence God give different people different methods for completing the same ultimate task.
The bottom line is that God wants to use you and if you open up your heart and let God in he will come into your life and prepare you for greatness through Jesus Christ. We have a task not to just sit and watch God work but to give our best efforts when work needs to be done. When being used by God we sometimes find it difficult or at the least strange to understand some of the instructions from God. We don’t always know God’s reasoning or his intents. This is in no way an acceptable excuse to disobey God. Not understanding is not going to buy it. Especially when Numbers 9:23 says:
At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
After the Israelites were freed Moses led them as God guided his path. Yes God will guide your path. You simply need to ask God instead of ignore or disobey God when you need guidance following his will for you. I’m a firm believer that if God calls you to do anything at all God will provide you with what you need to complete your mission for him. God will lead you if you allow him lead you. God lead Moses and the Israelites and God will lead you and I. Let go and let God have his way.
You might as well obey God because God’s word will not change for anyone or for anything. God says that all of heaven and hell will pass away before one of his words go void. This is a powerful promise. God is willing to destroy all of heaven and all of hell before he lies to mankind. God has a purpose in placing you where you are right now. We are beginning to understand what God wants of us and let us purpose in our heart to gain greater understanding of God’s purpose for our life and obey God.
Numbers 23:27 let’s us know that God’s word cannot change because God cannot and will not lie.
And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
Balak took Balaam to many places trying to entice him to curse the Israelites. Changing scenery does not change our problems. Some people say I just need to get away for a while and deal with this later. Getting away for a while may help you relax but it will not remove the problems from anyone’s life. We must learn to face the source of our problems.
2 Chronicles 18:33 let’s us know that no human scheme will cause God’s word to change nor prevent God’s word from coming to past.
And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded. Hurt yourself if you want to God’s will shall still prevail. Nothing we do will stop the will of God. There is no getting around doing what God has ordained for your life so you might as well get on board and follow Jesus. If you don’t God will punish you and get someone else to do it. The bottom line is God’s will shall be done.
Micaiah prophesized the death of Ahab. During war time Ahab disguised himself to trick the enemy and his disguise worked against the enemy; however it did not prevent God will via Micaiah’s prophecy. A random arrow found a crack in Ahabs helmet and entered his skull killing Ahab. God fulfills his will despite the defenses people put up. God can use anything or anyone to fulfill his will. This is good news for Christians because it let’s us know that God will do what he says. We can trust God to work his plan and to keep his promises no matter how desperate our circumstances are.
"Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
God uses people to do his will here on earth.
1. When God desires to use you can’t run and hide because God see’s all and God knows all. God knows where you come from, where you are going and where you are currently at all times. You can’t hide from God; likewise there is no need beneficial to you to deny God anything. God’s will, shall be done. Remember Jonah didn’t want to go where God sent him so he got on a ship and headed in the opposite direction. God cause trouble among the water of the sea and the only way to calm the sea was to cast Jonah into it. God had a big fish already prepared which swallowed Jonah into his (THE FISH) belly and transported Jonah to the place where god originally told Jonah to go in the beginning.
2. When God uses you be strong and of good courage. Know ye that the Lord will be with you on your journey. Simply trust and obey God and you can avoid unwanted punishments from God.
3. When God uses you do not get the big head, thinking you are all that because God done something great through you. Remember that it was not you that done the deed but God, through you. The bible instructs us not to boast in ourselves but to boast in the Lord, giving God all the credit, all the glory and all of the honor. You will get your reward when you make it to heaven and it will be well worth it.
Although Esther was the queen and shared in the king’s power and wealth she still needed God protection and God’s wisdom. No one is secured in their own strength. We need the Lord. Wealth and high positions do not put us above needing the Lord. If you find yourself in a life threatening situation do not forget God. Don’t withdraw yourself from God and wallow in despair. Ask God and trust God to fix it for you. Jesus will fix it for you. You say you have faith in God well its time to exercise your faith in God. Put your faith to work. Faith without works is dead. And anything that is dead is good for nothing.
Not Even Satan Can Persuade God To Change God’s Plans.
"And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life."
God will at times allow Satan to tempt or test you and your faith. This does not mean that God does not love you because God does love all of his creations. God even loves those who rejects him, however he will not allow their unfaithfulness to go unpunished. Satan was trying to not only destroy the connection between Job and God but Satan was also attempting to make God into a liar. Of course Satan failed this and all attempts to make God a liar. How did Satan attempt to make god a liar here? Well God has already promised to be there for us and protect us from the enemy hand. If Satan would have been allowed to kill Job God would have lied by not protecting Job because Job did what God asked of him always. The bible says that Job was an upright, faithful and perfect man in the eyes of God. The perfect candidate for God’s promised protection.
"I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."
God’s will is going to be done. Scripture says I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel. God will direct you every step of the way. You need to remember to let go and let God. Let God be God and you be you. God will raise and build you up to be a mighty warrior for him if you let him. You can let him by blessing him and allowing him to bless you. If you want God’s blessings the bible say seek it, find it, receive it. If you seek God first and all of his righteousness you can live victorious under the anointing of God. It is a part of the human nature to make our own plans and then ask God to bless them. Instead we should seek God’s will first. By constantly thinking about God and God’s will we will gain insights that will help us make right decisions and live according to God’s will. Communicating with God allows God the opportunity to counsel us and to give us wisdom.
"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."
Remember what I said before, it’s not about us it’s about God. God will not turn his back on you like mankind sometimes do. God will love and care for you despite your faults. Simply repent and be sincere with God. Let God help you live a Godly lifestyle here on earth. God said he will never leave nor forsake his people. If you feel left alone or forsaken examine yourself and your relationship with God. Make certain you are doing God’s will for your life. God will show you his true will and purpose for your life through his word (THE BIBLE).
What a lot of people miss in this scripture is that a deliverance was needed. We have here two Godly people Joseph and Mary who was in need of a deliverance. This lets us realize that just because you recognize the will of God for your life and have decided to allow God to live in and through your life, does not exempt your from troubled times. God will however be there to see you through them, helping you across those pressures of life. You will never be alone because God is always with you. God’s will is for everyone (man, woman and child). You can pray for it in your life and in your children’s life. Remember that prayer MUST be in line with God’s will for you. Therefore do not be discouraged if God says no to your prayer request. Believe it or not sometimes a no from God is the absolute best answer for us. We don’t see it because we hate to be told no but we must remember that it not about us it’s about God.
Where does God’s will for us come from?
Yes we know now that the bible is the written word of God which serves as God’s will for mankind. But how can we make it personal and receive it upon our lives?
First of all God’s will is in us already. It is within the spirit of God in us. Even those who do not serve God have the spirit of God because we were made in God’s image. Now what we choose to do with this spirit of God in us is another story. We can choose to ignore it and do our own thing or we can accept it by embracing God as our creator. There is consequences for both routes (Heaven or Hell).
If you choose to not live for God and do your own thing your own way, whatever, whenever; the consequences are harsh. You will be in danger of Hell’s fire. In hell there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. There will be constant turmoil and everlasting burning of your soul. Your spirit will be dammed for an eternity in the very hot lake of fire. There will be no ice water, no orange juice, no cold Kool-
If you choose to serve God, living your life for him the consequences are awesome. You will receive a royal life with Christ and the father God for eternity in the kingdom of Heaven. No eternal damnation but a heavenly mansion. No troubles and turmoil, but an eternal life free from sickness, disease, death, pain, suffering, poverty. When we get to heaven everything will be grand. No more need for social services because God will provide for us. We can walk around heaven all day and not have a single worry.
To God be the glory!
