Teaching Children To Follow God
And the Lord said unto Moses, go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him: And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I [am] the LORD.
God told Moses that his miraculous experience with Pharaoh should be retold to his descendants. Moses lived out one of the greatest dramas in biblical history. God instructed Moses to tell all of his descendants all about how God delivered the Egypt from the hands of a hard hearted Pharaoh. It was God’s intention for Moses to make sure people know that God is God and God is able to do anything for us.
Parents we need to carry on where Moses left off and tell our children about God and how God loves us including the children. We need to (MUST) teach our children, grandchildren and so forth about the love of God. No matter how old or young our children are we need to teach them about God.
When we go to church our children should be right there with us. Church is not for adults only. Church is for the people of God to come and learn of him and learn how to trust and obey God following God’s commands.
Church is where God’s creations (Mankind) comes together as like believers and praise and worship God; however the true church is not a physical building but the true church is in you and I. The true church is in our hearts.
Know ye not that your body is a living temple. The church goes everywhere you go and you should let the light of Jesus shine within you.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
We need to make religion an everyday part of our lives. We need to have religious education which is life oriented, not information oriented. The teachings we give and receive should be from the bible yet reflect on real life situations. Don’t just teach our children what the bible people did. Teach them how to apply the bible to their lifestyle and live for the Holy Trinity of God (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). The key to teaching your children to love God is simple and clear. If you want your children to follow God, you must make God a part of your everyday experiences. You must teach your children to seek God in all aspects of life, not just in church related situations. Let your children see God living in you. Teach them by example.
